Blog Logo

A logo design made for a gaming blog called First Person Shouter. The original design was initially only used as the authors Twitter avatar, but never fully adopted.

Homage to the Designers Republic

The Designers Republic are a big influence on my style, and are probably best known for their work in branding for and within the game Wipeout. Although the company has since disbanded the Wipeout branding lives on. Here are a couple of interpretations of well-known brands done in the Wipeout style. I'm considering a full series of these though lawsuits may be inevitable.

Visualise The Radio

What would the radio look like if you could see it? And what effect would the static in between stations give? This is our interpretation. With Alex Elnaugh and Ashley Maine

AlphaBetic Courier

The typeface 'Courier' is unique thanks to each letter taking up the same width. You can treat a grid of Courier letterforms much like pixels that make up a digital image. By colouring individual letters we made an alphabet book of Courier images. Project completed with Katie Peake

Fretboard Typeface

Here is an experimental typeface I am developing, constructed from a form taken from my guitars' fretboard. Some of the characters are less than satisfactory (V & X mainly).

Monster Movie

A movie exploring how a close up shot to a wide angle shot has the potential of revealing a surprise. Ever so slightly random though.

Launchy

I created a skin for an application called Launchy which opens programs via a text box that you type into. The character is my flatmate; you type into the speech-bubble and the icon of the program appears on his t-shirt (images created from scratch). Just a bit of fun.

[Year 1] - Adobe Optima

A piece from level one, celebrating the Optima typeface, in particular the numerical symbols. Part of a set of 4.

Totally For Tea

It's a proven scientific fact that dunking Rich Tea Biscuits in anything but tea is dangerous. And not tasty.

Physics

Did you know a single wine glass is strong enough to withstand massive amounts of pressure when applied directly downwards? Pictured here are 34 books, some sized XXL and from 2 of the university's libraries!

Christian Union Promotion

One of a set of two posters made for the Kingston CU, parodying the 'Choose Life' speech from the film Trainspotting. The text boxes deteriorate as they progress down the page.

Magnolia

A video about the colour Magnolia - using only black and white footage. Turns out it's quite difficult to express a colour without resorting to clichés.

Typography 2 - Reworked

Here is the reworked version of the typography piece a few posts below. It was radically simplified - the spacing down the centre is there to ready it for print.

Print Making

My first forray into printmaking at Kingston Uni. The title was 'Triptych', so I went along the route of 3 wishes, spotting the odd-lamp-out.

Quizmas Flyer

Flyer made for the Christian Union to advertise their annual Christmas quiz, 'Quizmas'.

Xperiment [Typeface]

Cartoon style typeface made using the mouse cursor.

Typography 2

Second Typography brief. This piece will be re-worked.
